Karim’s homeland

A Little Piece of Ground by Elizabeth Laird
Karim lives in Ramallah, which is in the West Bank and just 16 kilometers north of Jerusalem. It is highly regarded by Palestinians because of its professional and educational heritage. The people of Ramallah were strongly involved in the Palestinian-Israeli conflicts. Former Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat’s tomb is in Ramallah, although officials hope that one day he will be buried in Jerusalem, as he wished.
